2025 -2026 Welcome Back Family Letter
Updated

July 16, 2025

Dear Students and Families,

I hope you’re enjoying a joyful and restful summer—spending time with loved ones and doing the things that bring you happiness. Here at Norcross Elementary, we are busy preparing for your return and the start of the 2025–2026 school year. We’re excited because we truly believe that “the best is YET to come.”

🌟 Our Theme: LEAD THE WAY — Learn, Excel, Achieve, Discover

This year’s theme reflects our belief that every member of our school community—students, families, and staff—is a leader. At Norcross Elementary, leaders:

  • Learn continuously and seek new knowledge
  • Excel in their efforts and accomplishments
  • Achieve their goals through perseverance
  • Discover new ideas, cultures, and perspectives

As leaders, we each bring unique experiences and backgrounds. Below, you’ll find a map showing the countries where our students were born. This beautiful diversity is one of our greatest strengths—it’s a “superpower” that shapes how we lead and learn together.

🧭 We Need YOUR Leadership

There are many ways you can lead and support our school community:

  • Volunteer at the school
  • Join our Local School Council (LSC)
    • Meeting dates: Sept. 12 (7:30 AM), Nov. 14 (7:30 AM), Jan. 30 (7:30 AM), Apr. 24 (9:30 AM)
  • Become a member of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

If you’re interested in getting involved, please contact our Parent Center Leaders: Altavise Walker or Eduardina Checo at 770-326-8006 or 770-448-3168.

📚 School Supplies

We understand that back-to-school shopping can be costly. That’s why we’ll provide basic school supplies for all students—these will be distributed by your child’s teacher. You may still wish to purchase additional supplies for home use.

🎒 Please note: All students will need to bring their own backpack, as these will not be provided.
